Claude Becomes a Connected Work Assistant
Anthropic has unveiled a powerful new upgrade for Claude: Integrations. This feature allows the AI to connect directly to widely used workplace tools, making it a much smarter collaborator. Alongside it comes an Advanced Research mode designed to help professionals dig deeper and synthesize complex information from both internal and external sources.
What Are Claude’s New Integrations?
The Integrations are built on Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), which previously required some technical setup. Now, with simplified web-based connectivity, developers and end users can easily link Claude to major platforms. Supported tools include Jira, Confluence, Asana, Intercom, Zapier, Sentry, Square, PayPal, Linear, Plaid—with GitLab and Stripe on the way.
This gives Claude access to rich context from your workplace. It can now read project histories, view real-time task updates, or explore team documentation to offer more relevant and accurate assistance.
Real-World Use Cases: From Project Management to Customer Service
The possibilities are impressive. Using Claude with Zapier opens up access to thousands of apps. You could ask it to pull sales data, schedule a meeting, and generate a summary—without touching a single dashboard.
Teams using Jira and Confluence will appreciate Claude’s ability to write product specs, summarize documentation, or generate linked task tickets in bulk. And if you’re on Intercom, Claude can analyze chat transcripts, summarize customer feedback, or even auto-generate bug tickets in Linear.
By embedding Claude into workflows, Anthropic is shifting AI from passive chatbot to proactive team member.
Built for Developers, Too
Anthropic is also making it easy for devs to build custom integrations. Thanks to platforms like Cloudflare and other secure connectors, developers can link Claude to proprietary internal systems in about 30 minutes—bringing the AI into industry-specific software with minimal friction.
Advanced Research Mode: Claude Gets Smarter at Searching
Beyond app connections, Claude now comes with a boosted Advanced Research capability. Instead of just performing one-off web searches, it breaks down complex questions into parts, searches across connected tools (including Google Workspace and your integrated apps), and assembles detailed reports.
This mode is slower—some tasks may take up to 45 minutes—but it offers significant time savings compared to manual research. Plus, all insights are traceable: Claude links every statement back to its source so users can verify the information.
Availability and Rollout
These features are launching in beta for users on Anthropic’s Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Pro users won’t be left behind—access to the new features is coming soon.
Also worth noting: Claude’s standard web search function is now available to all paid plans globally, with no more regional limits.
From Novelty to Necessity
With these upgrades, Anthropic is positioning Claude as more than just a chat interface. By tying it into real workflows and beefing up its research chops, Claude is evolving into a serious workplace assistant—capable of streamlining tasks, supporting decisions, and bridging the gap between data and action.
